Luxury vinyl (LVF) is made of entirely waterproof materials, meaning the waterproof capability is inherent. It can either be submerged or spilled on and a quick wipe dry will keep it undamaged. Luxury vinyl flooring offers so much value for the decorating dollar it's now a highly sought-after product. LVF, like all vinyl, is now a trend.

What is luxury vinyl?

If you haven't seen it yet, explore the entire inventory of gorgeous nature-inspired, accurate-to-life images of wood, stone, or tile. Photographs are taken with high-definition photography, so they're vibrant and clear with knots, swirls, grains, veining variations, and bright colors and patterns. Micro beveling and embossing add depth, dimension, and textured looks.

For added realism, luxury vinyl flooring offers a design option of the material being cut into planks, called luxury vinyl plank or LVP. The other form is a cut into square, tile-sized piece called luxury vinyl tile (LVT) that can be used with or without grout.

Strong enough to withstand kids and pets

Luxury vinyl flooring is a multi-layered product, five times thicker than the original vinyl. At the top is a transparent, strong, melamine layer that protects the surface from scratches and scuffs and keeps spills at the top waiting to be wiped off. On top of that is a clear urethane finish that adds both extra protection and shine.

This product is also low maintenance, needing only a regular (daily, if possible) sweeping and a periodic mopping with a manufacturer-approved cleaner. Avoid waxy, shine-promoting substances, as they damage the finish and dull the floor; if you feel you need more shine, seek the advice of a flooring expert.
Installation is also uncomplicated, especially when it's a floating floor where pieces click, mat, and hover over a clean, dry and level subfloor without nails or glue.
